“Bengali home feasts — bhaat, maach, mishti”

I cook the unhurried Bengali table — shorshe ilish in mustard, kosha mangsho, and a parade of mishti to finish. Niramish (no onion-garlic) feasts for pujo are a speciality.

Hilsa in a sharp mustard-poppy gravy.

Slow-cooked dark mutton, Sunday-lunch style.

Prawns in coconut-milk curry.

Bitter-sweet mixed vegetable starter.

Caramelised set yoghurt and fresh sandesh.
A multi-course Bengali lunch or dinner, served in courses.
No onion-garlic festive spread for gatherings.

“Our Lokkhi Pujo feast was exactly like Ma used to make. Ananya is a gem.”

Yes — many of my festive menus are entirely niramish, perfect for pujo and shraddha.
It's seasonal. Out of season I'll suggest equally special alternatives like bhetki or prawns.
Both — I plate and serve in the traditional course order, or set up a buffet for larger groups.
